Merry Christmas to each one of you and your families...

With CHRISTmas only a few days away, my children are filled with joy, anticipation & a whole lot of craziness!  I guess I should be honest with you, I am too :)  There is something so magical about this time of year.  From ages 1-101, it seems that most of us feel a sense of joy, hope and sometimes uncontrollable excitement at this time of the year. We know and do our best to remember that it is CHRISTmas and that Jesus is the Reason for the Season. But that inner child inside each of us is bursting with the excitement - the excitement of the parties we attend, the excitement of the perfect gift we buy for that perfect someone & yes, excitement of the gifts that we will receive!  One of my favorite parts of CHRISTmas is the excitement of my being with my six blessings on Christmas morning. From ages 3-18, they open each gift with hope & excitement that it may be the one gift they wished would be under the tree.  Yes, they know that Jesus is THE gift that we have all hoped for - we talk about this throughout advent and we do our best to focus on others through our Advent Angel activity we do at home and our service projects.  However, they still love to receive gifts! (and so do I :)  But as I have grown, I have come to truly love when God reveals His gifts in life that, in some cases, we have had all along.   The gift of my healthy family, the gift of Ricky's job to support our family, the gift of those moments when all six children are getting along, the gift of love among my children, the gift of my 3 year-old randomly talking about Jesus' birthday and the gift of HOPE & EXCITEMENT!  Since the gift of Mary's "YES!" to the angel Gabriel, God has given us all the opportunity to say "YES!" to His gifts.  One gift that I have come to realize, probably for the first time in forever, is the true gift of JOSEPH!  Can you imagine the HOPE & EXCITEMENT he must have felt when God revealed his plan, His gift,  to him in a dream?  He had just learned that his fiance was pregnant and it wasn't his child?! I can't imagine the thoughts that he must have had about the situation.  I believe that he had some hope and very little excitement about this.  But then the dream happened, yes, it really happened - the dream that gave Joseph HOPE & EXCITEMENT!  The dream that revealed the greatest GIFT - "Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit."  Matt 1:20
So today, I would like to thank you St. Joseph!  Thank you for saying "YES!" to God ~ Thank you for supporting & LOVING Mary and Jesus ~ Thank you for raising our Savior as a Holy & Godly father ~ Thank you for being a Patron Saint to many, especially fathers ~ & I want to personally Thank you for supporting  my husband, Ricky Joseph as the head of our home & for  leading our family to holiness.  St Joseph, pray for us :)
